It’s crazy how time flies. Just last week, we had our final class after spending two quarters together. Maybe I'm just a very nostalgic person, but it felt like our LCS Retreat was just a few weeks ago, and everyone was excited to meet each other. It's been an experience having to adapt from learning in-class and site visits that we did our first quarter to unexpectedly having to shift to remote learning for the second quarter. Despite the unfortunate circumstances for the second half, I'm glad we got to spend the first half to meet in person and forge new friendships. I felt that we were fortunate to at least be able to experience LCS in under normal conditions for some time.
I learned a lot from this program and met new people along the way. The books we read and the things we learned prompted me to reflect a lot about the present and what actions I should take to lead a more fulfilling life. It taught me to not be afraid of old age, but to learn to embrace both the pros and the cons of what's yet to come. Some of my favorite memories of LCS was the LCS Retreat, Senior Prom, visiting the Casa de Manana, and serving lunch at the Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center. Aside from that, I recall, in our last class, Profs Lewis and Bussell talking about having an LCS alumni reunion when school opens up again, so I am looking forward to that and seeing what everyone else has been up to so far! Lastly, I want to say thank you to Profs Lewis and Bussell, the TAs, and everyone in the cohort for a wonderful experience.
