2024 UGIAs
LIly Keefauver
Hey everyone! My name is Lily Keefauver and I’m a third year urban planning major and sociology minor. I’m interested in community health and how physical space influences people’s development. It’s really fascinating finding the intersections between individual and structural barriers. For me, LCS is the perfect bridge between social work, urban planning, policy, and public health; I hope to pursue a career in planning where I can work one on one with individuals. Outside of class, I am a research assistant in the USP department looking at urban planning curriculum in higher education and land values over time. I am also a board member of the Asian Pacific Islander Student Association (APSA). I love yoga, rock climbing, swimming, and puzzles, and am currently spending lots of time with my kitten, Lacy. Don’t be a stranger and feel free to reach out anytime :) I’m excited to meet and work with you all; it’s gonna be a great quarter.
Jackson Hausrath
Hello everyone! My name is Jackson Hausrath, and I'm a third year studying Neurobiology in Revelle College. When I first took this course, I certainly had no idea what to expect and had little background in Urban Studies. Nevertheless, the class quickly became my favorite, with diverse and ever-present themes relevant for any aspiring changemaker. As an IA, I hope to do everything I can to foster the same love for the class in all of you! Outside of class, I love shooting hoops and practicing the guitar.
Christine Tran
Hi all! My name is Christine Tran. I am currently a Human Developmental Science major with a specialization in Healthy Aging. I am nearing the end of my academic journey at UCSD and am eager to continue to learn as much as I can from the connections I make here. My future goals include working with diverse aging populations in social service programs or non-profit organizations. I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by individuals of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. The time spent with different individuals has taught me to view aging as a privilege. I hope that the work I engage in will one day offer both me and all aging individuals the courage to grow old while still being recognized and valued in our society. Lately, my free time revolves around spending time with my friends/family, cooking/eating food, practicing yoga, and building my community in SD. I look forward to meeting you all and growing with you all through this academic shared experience.
Desiree Lucero
Hi everyone, my name is Desiree and I am a Human Development major at Muir. I currently work in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) with young children and plan to continue onward to graduate school this fall to study clinical counseling. I loved this class so much, I decided to hop on as a UGIA so I could be a resource to those participating in LCS this quarter. Outside of academics, I enjoy being active, chilling with my dog, cooking at home and reading fantasy and historical fiction novels on my kindle. If you are ever in need of support, feel free to reach out. I believe life is about connection so I look forward to meeting and connecting with you all!
