I cannot believe that this quarter is over already! It has been such a great experience to be part of this class! I’ve made so many meaningful connections and learned so many things. Things that everyone would benefit from knowing! I really hope to take another course like this one, possibly the homelessness course. I loved the structure of the class; between the books we read, the events we had with the older adults, and all of the research projects we did, I never want this class to end. It allows freedom within education, which I feel is very important. Giving students freedom to focus on topics that interest them and allowing them to do their own research breeds creativity, originality, and individuality. I especially enjoyed the book: Happiness is a Choice You Make, it was so impactful, each time I read a page I was forced to reflect. What a great book, I would highly recommend it to everyone, anyone could take something from it. Also, the Healthy Aging Project was very exciting! I am so excited to see how my project will progress, I hope that it can positively impact the aging population. The Neighborhood Aging Project was also very intriguing, I learned so much about my very own neighborhood. I hope to even send my project to the town hall with my recommendations to hopefully see change within the community. To make my neighborhood a healthier, safer, more efficient and enjoyable place for the older population.
I cannot thank the professors and the other Life Scholars enough, this class will always be near my heart.
