On Friday night, Life Course Scholars planned an event at Case de Manana with the Oscar theme. This event was very fun and encouraged the participation of everyone in the party. I was surprised that there was a decent amount of people showing up for the event, and every individual was lovely and adorable. This event was unique to all of the Life Course Scholars because we got to actually decorate the place and set everything up for the event. Despite the fact that we had prepared many gifts, there were still some seniors who could not earn a prize. I was standing behind a group of elders, and the number that they had was always a number away from the announced number. It was unfortunate to see that none of them in their group won a prize, but they still had a good time. They loved the idea of the photo booth so that they could bring something home at the end of the event. Overall, this event was successful because everyone had a fun time on a Friday evening. Everyone was dancing together, and this event really narrowed the gap between the young and old generation by bringing everyone together. We should have more similar events. For me, I did not have many chances to go to this kind of activity, so it was unique and special for me. I am very fortunate that I joined this excellent program at the beginning of the year, and this program has taught me so much.
