Today, the class didn’t take a field trip anywhere, but we met up in class. I was a bit disappointed when we weren’t able to present on the Debunking Ageism Project because I was excited to share to the class about our project. However, we got to discuss the second part of the “Happiness is a Choice You Make” book so that was nice.
Discussing the book was enlightening. We talked about what to do in tough situations with our loved ones, and also discussed the stories of the people mentioned in the book. It was nice to hear the specific stories of seix people rather than hearing generalized assumptions that “relate” to all the senior population.
After the book discussion, we were able to meet with our HAP groups to continue working on our projects. We spend a lot of time workshopping and revising the design and logistics of our event. I’m glad to hear that we have lots of clothes/accessories from the clothing boutique, but I’m a bit worried about getting hairstylists and massage therapists to volunteer their time for the event.
