In class, we had a guest speaker come in to teach us how to create presentation boards. I have never made one before and was a little overwhelmed, so it was perfect that Sue Peerson came in. Her presentation was a lot of help. It made me think about the design of the board and how to format it, depending on who my target audience will be. She answered a lot of my questions in her presentation, I did not even know where to start. We also decided on how many presentation boards to make and how would make each one. There will be 7, I believe. One for each HAP and NAP. Stephanie and I are doing the NAP for La Jolla. Although we are both also in the HAP for the choir group, John and Micah are doing that one.
We then did our reading discussions. I felt like my questions were tough to answer since it was more about the big picture and pertained to societal issues. There was not just one answer and the discussion lead to different topics too. Class ended before I could present all my readings, but that’s okay. It was another loaded question for the class.
For the HAP that I am a part of, we had our second choir session. I printed more songs for everyone, which Gene, the man that plays the guitar at Seasons At La Jolla, shared with me. Cathy, the supervisor on the weekends, also sings along with us and the patients. She notices that some of the patients sing when they have lyrics in front of them instead of just listening. Even if they do not sing along, they like to read the song lyrics. I hope that these choir sessions impact them in some way because I really enjoy them.
