Casa De Manana, a beautiful senior community filled with brilliant, adventurous, and charming seniors. UCSD LCS hosted a night on the red carpet for this amazing center of which many seniors of this community attended right after dinner. This event was dated March 2nd in the lower lounge of Casa de Manana at 7p.m. There were tons of things going on from raffle prizes, treats, dancing and a live band named Hot Pursuit. We began setting up and organizing the room as the band itself set up as well.
I really enjoyed dressing up (somewhat) and spending my Friday night serving treats, taking pictures, and most importantly dancing with these amazing seniors. It was sooo wonderful seeing them dance and enjoy this event we put for them. They looked like they were having soo much fun on the dance floor, I wish I could dance like them! It was funny because the lady singer was teaching us LCS how to Walt dance but apparently it was not the correct way, according to one of the seniors at Casa De Manana, it was funny and adorable seeing her correct the Walt she was teaching us.
After serving some treats and drinks, I got to dance a little and the most amazing thing was that I got to see Alice. Alice was the women who I sat with as well as other of my peers and spoke to during our visit to Casa de Manana, she mentioned how much fun she was having and thanked us for such a beautiful event. Personally, I think that getting comments like these from the seniors in that community are priceless especially seeing their smiles and enjoyment. I loved this event and I am thankful that I got to be part of it.
